New York was looking at being an Itailan Restaurant year of 2010, but all of the sudden there was a Thai explosion!! Michael White’s Italian seafood restaurant “Marea” even won the James Beard Foundation Award. There were also many other Itailan restaurants that were opened across New York City. However, everything started to shift!! There are two Thai fine-dining restaurants called Kittichai and Pranna, they both have hired Thai-food experts to run thier kitchen. Also, Harold Dieterle, who won the first season of Top Chef opened a Thai restaurant!! David Bank opened his fourth Thai restaurant this week, are you getting the point, lol. Finally, NBC New York Food Blog “Feast” talked about how Vegas’ Lotus of Siam, which is rated the best Thai in the country, will be opening up a New York location.
